Sky and Earth (Olympus)

2 Channel Video / 7:25 min / Color / Sound / 2019

“Sky and Earth (Olympus)” explores imagery from Maria Zervos’s climb to the top of Mount Olympus. In the two-channel video installation the natural environment of the forest is juxtaposed with an artificial one, a green screen set. The video unfolds a world in which nature and culture, poetry and image, coexist alongside issues of equality, gender and the environment. The two-channel video combines original material with scenes from Zervos’s earlier video, “My Half of the Sky, My Half of the Earth”.
